Educate
Lecture
We are humbled by the opportunity to share our experiences with the next generation of makers and doers.
Our past lectures have led us to Universities such as Kent State, George Fox, and the University of Iowa where we’ve presented on the business behind our ceramic production studio and the merits of working in clay. We’ve also had the pleasure of speaking at several NCECA events and would love to be a part of your educational experience or lecture series, too!
Mushark co-owner Brett Binford provides a unique perspective on the ceramic production process, business ownership, and the delicate nature of preserving your artistic passion when shaping a business from the hobby you love.
Workshop
If you’re on the hunt for a team building experience that challenges your teams’ perception of 3D space, or if you’re a small studio looking to offer a unique educational experience for your clientele, we’ll work with you to create a custom workshop experience catered to your audience and focus.
We currently offer 1 or 2 day mold workshops for up to 10 people. We require our clients to provide an event space for the workshop but we’re willing to work with you to source a solution that complements your needs. Have something difference in mind? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do to make it happen.
Although slipcasting workshops are on the horizon they are not a confirmed offering yet. If you’re interested, let us know!
Consult
We understand the challenges of running a small business. Whether you’re a studio of 1 or 20, there are growing pains each step of the way. We’re glad to lend the knowledge we’ve gathered over the past 13 years that has brought us to where we are today. Our consultation services can cover a myriad of topics. Tell us about your vision and we’ll put together a consultation experience customized to your needs.
Though we’ve had our share of experiences and feel confident in our production abilities, we know that we there will always be something new for us to learn or a problem that we haven’t encountered yet. In this spirit, please know that if your consultation request does not fall within our line of expertise we’ll let you know. We’re committed to honest and transparent practices, and enriching the ceramic community around us.
